We are looking for a Unity Developer to join us and create tools to speed up and simplify the design and development of Deep. In the game, players explore a vast and mysterious underwater world that is teeming with life and surprises. Movement is driven by the players breath, and as one breathes the world pulses and glows and responds in time with you. Having shown the project at galleries and festivals around the world, we are returning to the project with an expanded vision and a much larger world. We are now preparing to complete the development, ahead of deploying it in to the health and wellness communities and home users in the hopes of supporting people in a variety of settings.
What We Are Looking For:
A contractor working 1-2 days a week, commencing mid September for 3 months, with the opportunity to extend.
Someone with a strong grounding in Unity programming skills to create beautiful tools to help us quickly bring our world to life. This will include tools for level design, scripted sequences and to manage our in game creatures. You may also end up pitching in on general gameplay programming if time allows.
Great communication skills and experience working in a team.
Possess an interest in yoga, self care and/or psychology.
Based in the Toronto area, Canada.
What We Can Offer:
Day rate based on experience.
The opportunity to become a core member on a groundbreaking game, driving a new form of therapy and research which is demonstrating its potential to meaningfully help people.
Work in a multidisciplinary environment, working with various collaborators across the arts, research and psychology.
Opportunities to develop business and technical skills.
Part time, flexible hours and scope for increased commitment.
We particularly welcome applicants from Women, People of Colour, LGBTQ+, and people from physical and neuro-diverse backgrounds.
Whilst we are a small organisation, we have large ambitious plans for Deep and believe this will be hugely rewarding experience which could contribute towards a healthier society. If you don't have all the skills listed above but think you would be good for the role, then please do still apply.
To apply, please submit a CV, portfolio and a simple 3 minute video introducing yourself and why you are interested in joining by Sunday 8th September, 5pm Toronto, GMT-4)
